GALA DINNER
Pattaya , Thailand – The Royal Cliff Wine Club, recognised as Thailand’s leading wine club, recently hosted another signature French Winemaker’s Yuletide Gala Dinner at the Grand Ballroom, Royal Cliff Grand & Spa.
The event, which proved to be another success for the wine club, featured world-class white and red wines from Vignobles Germain & Cie of France. Vignobles Germain & Cie is an award-winning wine producer with vineyards in Bordeaux and the Loire Valley. Mr. Philippe Germain, whose family owns the company, presented the wines himself.
The elegantly decorated venue welcomed over 175 wine club members and distinguished guests. Mr. Ranjith Chandrasiri, President of the Royal Cliff Wine Club and Deputy General Manager of the Royal Cliff Beach Resort, welcomed the august gathering.

The Royal Cliff Wine Club, recognised as Thailand’s leading wine club, successfully hosted another signature Winemaker’s Gala Dinner on 14th July 2005 at the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Cliff Grand.
This special event that featured prestigious Baron Philippe de Rothschild Chilean wines was co-sponsored by the Embassy of Chile in Bangkok and Ambrose Wine Limited.
The stunningly decorated venue welcomed over 200 Wine Club members and guests, who were treated to a marvellous six-course dinner prepared by the Resort’s Executive Chef Walter Thenisch and his team of culinary experts, complemented by exquisite wines from different regions of Chile.
Each course of the lavish menu ensemble brought out by the service staff met with wholehearted approval from the guests.
Also in attendance were guests of honour H. E. Mr. Luis Alberto Sepulveda, Chilean Ambassador to Thailand, Winemaker Michel Friou and the General Manager of “Baron Philippe de Rothschild” for the Asia-Pacific Region Thierry de Tourniel.

The Royal Cliff Wine Club on 3 June 2005 successfully hosted another signature Winemaker’s Gala Dinner in the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Cliff Grand. Featured in the well-attended event were select wines from the prestigious Maison Louis Jadot of Burgundy, France.
The French Winemaker's Gala Dinner offered a total of five world-class wines which complemented a gourmet menu prepared by the Royal Cliff Beach Resort’s gourmet team led by Executive Chef Walter Thenisch. The event was co-sponsored by Cannon Pacific Co., Ltd.
As a special treat Wine Club members and guests were able to purchase limited stocks of wines featured in the dinner at heavily discounted prices courtesy of the Royal Cliff Beach Resort and the Royal Cliff Wine Club.
ROYAL CLIFF WINE CLUB HOSTS
EXCLUSIVE TASTING OF PREMIER THAI WINES
The Royal Cliff Wine Club on 20 April 2005 hosted an exclusive tasting of wines from Thailand's very own PB Valley Khao Yai Winery.
The recent wine tasting was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Cliff Grand and had Thailand’s first winemaker, Mr. Prayut Piangbunta, currently Khao Yai's Chief Winemaker, and the winery’s General Manager, Mr. Sorapat Tongprasroeth as guest speakers.
PB Valley Khao Yai Winery is located amidst a lush and fertile 2,000-rai plantation of which 500 rai are dedicated to growing grapes. The Valley is located 300 metres above sea level on the edge of the Khao Yai National Park. The company was founded by Khun Piya Bhirombhakdi.
The Royal Cliff Wine Club will offer another exciting wine dinner on 3 June 2005 which features select wines from France’s Burgundy region.

WINE CLUB HOSTS CHILEAN WINEMAKER'S GALA DINNER
The Royal Cliff Wine Club on 4 March 2005 successfully hosted another signature Winemaker’s Gala Dinner in the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Cliff Grand. Featured in the well-attended event were highly sought-after wines from Santa Carolina, one of Chile’s oldest wineries.
The winery enjoys not only a notable history spanning 125 years but a long list of international awards. Every vintage of its Carmenère label, for example, is a recipient of several citations.
Its 2002 vintage was awarded with the “Medalla de Oro” during the 2003 Wine Awards of Santiago, Chile while London's International Wine Fair in 2003 conferred a "Seal of Approval" to Santa Carolina's Carmenère 2001.

WINE CLUB HOSTS YULETIDE DINNER

The Royal Cliff Wine Club’s last gourmet offering this year turned out to be one of its biggest. Coinciding with the festive season, a Yuletide Wine Dinner was hosted by the club on 17 December 2004 in the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Cliff Grand.
Over 170 members and guests filled the festively decorated venue and were treated to a seven-course gourmet dinner whipped up by the Royal Cliff Beach Resort’s gourmet team led by its jolly executive chef, Walter Thenisch.
The menu ensemble was heavenly as each course brought out by the service staff elicited adoring approval from the merry guests.
A selection of the finest Beringer wines from Napa Valley was well-chosen to complement the menu and did not disappoint to say the least. Course for course, each wine was professionally presented and served in ritual fashion.
As a special treat guests were able to purchase these select labels at cost prices. The wines were such a hit that not a few members ordered several cases either for their own collection or as gifts to friends and family.
This mini-wine fair, recently incorporated during each wine dinner, has been a welcome addition to the Wine Club’s value-laden events. Purchase of featured wines at cost prices is reserved for attendees.
Deputy General Manager of the Royal Cliff Beach Resort and President of the Royal Cliff Wine Club, Mr. Ranjith Chandrasiri at the event thanked the club’s members and supporters for their patronage. This included Cannon Pacific, Co., Ltd. which co-sponsored the event and was represented by its Managing Director Khun Ekachai Mahaguna.
He also shared exciting news of the opening of Royal Cliff Beach Resort’s newest wining and dining outlet – the trendy Caprice Restaurant and Bar. Located on the 1st floor of the Royal Wing & Spa, Caprice boasts “pure style” as its mantle and has been designed to be the trendiest restaurant and bar this side of the Eastern Seaboard.

WINE CLUB HOSTS FIRST “HEAVYWEIGHT
WINE MATCH-UP” AT RECENT GALA DINNER
The Royal Cliff Wine Club, recognised as Thailand's leading wine club, once again hosted a successful winemaker's gala dinner on 12 August 2004 in the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Cliff Grand.
The recent Australian Winemaker's Gala Dinner successfully adopted a new “match-up” format introduced by the club. Instead of the usual "one-wine-one-course" format, two wines grown from separate regions of Australia and both owned by the Evans & Tate Wine Group were served to complement each dinner course prepared by the Royal Cliff Beach Resort's culinary experts.
This provided an exceptional chance for guests to not only appreciate the heavenly pairing of world-class wines with exquisite dishes but also provided them the opportunity to compare and contrast two wines owned by a single wine company.
The wines came from two of Australia's finest wine-growing regions – the Yarra Valley and Margaret River. This unprecedented format was well-applauded by guests at the dinner, who once again completely filled up the ballroom.
Aside from the regular guest list of wine club members and local enthusiasts, the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, HE Mr. Miles Kupa once again joined the event as an esteemed guest speaker along with wine connoisseur Mr. Sean Bell from Evans & Tate Wine Group, Australia.
This recent Australian Winemaker’s Gala Dinner was co-sponsored by Festive Wine, Bangkok.

YERING STATION WINE DINNER
The Royal Cliff Wine Club hosted another successful Winemaker’s Gala Dinner on 5 June 2004 in the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Cliff Grand. Featured in this particular event were select wines from the Yering Station – Victoria, Australia’s first winery.
The venue was once again completely filled with guests who were treated to exquisite wines and a marvelous six-course dinner prepared by Royal Cliff Beach Resort Executive Chef Walter Thenisch and his team of culinary experts.
Aside from the regular guest list of wine club members and local enthusiasts, a short list of top local government and international diplomats joined the event.
This included the Permanent Secretary of Thailand’s Sports and Tourism Ministry, Khun Jadej Insawang and the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand HE Mr. Miles Kupa who also gave a brief lecture on Australia and its wines.
The recent Australian Winemaker’s Dinner was co-sponsored by Nicolas BC Company which was represented at the event by its Chairperson, Dr. Niti Meyer. Wine connoisseur and international wine authority Mr. David Andrews of Yering Station was one of the main speakers.

grand cocktail party on 6 September, 2003 to celebrate a recent
“Award of Excellence” given by the Wine Spectator Magazine,
New York to the Resort’s longest-serving restaurant –
the Grill Room & Wine Cellar.
The event, held in the Grand Ballroom,
Royal Cliff Grand drew over 300 Wine Club members, select media
personalities, and several distinguished guests who were treated
to the Resort’s world-class gourmet and wine showcase.
Royal Cliff Beach Resort managing director Mrs. Panga Vathanakul
thanked everyone who contributed to the achievement and said, “As
the resort celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, we can look
back with pride at the many remarkable achievements and awards that
we have received over the past three decades. From awards for being
the best resort in Asia-Pacific to awards for being the best meetings
& conventions hotel in the region – we thought we had
seen them all. Today, however, we’re here to celebrate a first.
For the first time, one of our restaurants has been recognized with
a major international award.”
The “Award of Excellence” is given by the Wine Spectator’s
judging panel of wine experts, connoisseurs, and editors through
its international Restaurant Awards Programme.
Chosen for its “superlative combination of top-notch wine
list, menu, ambience, pricing and overall quality”, the Grill
Room & Wine Cellar now becomes the only restaurant in Pattaya
and Thailand’s Eastern seaboard with this internationally-coveted
distinction.
