Royal Cliff’s deVine Wine Club Experiences Alluring Flair of France!

It was an illustrious evening of culinary pleasures as the Royal Cliff Hotels Group’s deVine Club held a memorable French Grand Cru Classe wine gala dinner on Friday, November 8, 2013 to the delight of all its club members and wine lovers alike.

The evening commenced with a welcome cocktail and canapé reception for the guests at the Lobby bar of the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel. Managing Director of Royal Cliff Hotels Group, Mrs. Panga Vathanakul, led the executive team in warmly welcoming one and all to the event that was generously sponsored by Sri Siam Wine Co., Ltd. 

In deference to the night’s enticing French-inspired dinner, the Royal Grill Room & Wine Cellar was transformed into an intimate setting of sophistication and classic elegance.

Newly appointed Royal Cliff Hotels Group General Manager, Mr.  Antonello Passa began the evening’s festivities with a warm welcome speech and an introduction of the evening’s guest speaker and wine specialist, Mr. Berenger Le Boursicot, the export manager for South East Asia & the Middle East of Borie Manoux, Bordeaux Wine negociant & Classified Estates owner.

As Mr. Le Boursicot talked about specialty Bordeax Wines, guests were presented with a delightful 5 course meal comprising of sumptuous modern French cuisine specially crafted for the occasion.  The meal begun with a serving of lightly smoked sea prawns on Romesco salsa with horse radish foam and pea shoot creatively paired with Domaine Blondelet, Pouilly-Fume, Loire 2011.  It was followed by inventive and palate-pleasing combinations that tantalized the taste buds from an oven roasted Alaskan Cod medallion on red wine brandy sauce served with Chateau Mauvinon, Grand Cru Classe Saint-Emilion 2007, followed closely by luscious Char-grilled Barberry duck supreme with oven roasted butternut squash, rushed hazel nuts and baked prunes, delicately balanced with Chateau Lafleur Laroze, Grand Cru Classe, Saint-Emilion 2007.

The unforgettable main course consisted of the Grilled Charlaise beef tenderloin with Perigourdine sauce and the sultry flavor of Chateau Lynch-Moussas, Grand Cru Classe, Pauillac 2003 complementing the delectable dish. Innovative fine chocolate tart with crème chantilly, almond crumble and passions fruit jelly matched with Chateau Suduiraut Premier Cru Classe, Sauternes 2006 ended the evening on a sweet note making it another memorable night of delightful French cuisine and wine at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group!
