Nowhere else could one experience the charm of Thai culture than at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group. And that is exactly what the guests of the Royal Cliff enjoyed as the dawn of 2010 came to an end and the world welcomed 2011.

The Royal Cliff bid farewell to 2010 and welcomed the New Year 2011 with much splendor and majestic beauty. The New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, appropriately themed ‘A Night of Royal Splendour’ was a superb presentation of an evening ‘fit for Royalty!’

Appropriate to the theme of the evening, the backdrop was an amazing kaleidoscope of colours and vibrant chanting of activities; presenting a Royal Barge prompting guests to mesmerize in the journey along the River of Kings and through the Royal Chambers of the Grand Palace. A perfect location, ideally set at the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel’s latest feature, the new Infini Poolside, and guests of the Royal Cliff came dressed in all finery to welcome the New Year in style, class, and pure elegance in accordance to the graciousness of the Thai culture.

The event was spaced into two zones, the Classic zones offering a tantalizing grand buffet and the Exclusive Zone that included pre cocktail drinks with a sumptuous buffet selection and supreme service from the Royal Wing Suites & Spa staff.

The evening was filled with exciting Thai cultural performances from Thailand’s pioneering cast, who performed traditional Thai dances such as the spectacular Royal Princess Show – portraying the ancient tail of the Giant and the Princess;, the mystical Kinaree performance- demonstrating Thailand’s legendary tales of the Mythical Creatures of the East and the fascinating Peacock dance- predicting a beautiful, passionate journey through the cultural paring based on love.

As the evening progressed, the excitement heightened with the Royal Cliff’s lucky draw and performances from the Royal Cliff’s resident band. As 2010 came to a close, the Executives of the Royal Cliff, Mr. Joachim Grill - General Manager, Mr. Ranjith Chandrasiri - Deputy General Manager, and Mr. Vorawitt Jitpayap - Deputy Executive Assistant Manager led the finale with the countdown. With a dramatic build up, the pinnacle moment was the spectacular fireworks display from one of Royal Cliff’s private beaches which beautifully filled the sky as the famous “Auld Lang Syne” was sang by all. The party was not over yet, as the resident DJ kept the guests dancing well into the early hours of 2011.

Situated on a 64 acre private parkland estate overlooking the impressive Gulf of Thailand, the Royal Cliff Hotels Group offers a multitude of activities and facilities for the whole family. With newly renovated rooms, superb five star service and stunning new developments, this hotel group is the perfect holiday destination for all ages.
