deVine Wine Club @Royal Cliff Hotels Group honours the acceptance of  the ‘Best of Award of Excellence 2011 ‘ awards from 
Wine Spectator Magazine New York with a celebratory dinner 

The Royal Cliff Hotels Group, having once again triumphed to an outstanding achievement by receiving the “Best of Award of Excellence” for five (5) of its remarkable restaurants from the Wine Spectator Magazine New York for another consecutive year, celebrated this accomplishment with much finesse and flair at the opulent Royal Grill Room & Wine Cellar – Excellence & Heritage, one of the eminent restaurants to have received this award.

The “Best of Award of Excellence 2011 Celebration Dinner” on 5th October 2011 was indeed a befitting occasion to salute to a success which is undoubtedly recognized as a ‘World Record’ for the Royal Cliff to have maintained its stand as the only property to have received five such awards within one calendar year. 

To further toast this significant banquet, a glorious selection of wines from the Villa Maria Estate, New Zealand was featured. These superb wines beautifully complemented the well-composed multi-course menu prepared by the Royal Cliff’s culinary masters with delicate precision and artistry.

The evening’s dinner was also made possible through the generosity of the co-sponsor, Vanichvathana (Bangkok) Co. Ltd, represented by Mr. Georges Barbier, who gracious sponsored all the wines for the delightful evening. Villa Maria Estate’s Asia/Middle East Market Manager, the lovely Ms. Charlotte Read was also in attendance to present the exceptional wines for the evening. 

In his speech, Mr. Ranjith Chandrasiri, President of deVine Wine Club at Royal Cliff Hotels Group thanked the valued club members, guests and friends for  the continued support and their enthusiasm in making the deVine Wine Club’s ‘wining & dining’ programmes not only a success but also a tradition that will be continued in years to come. Mr. Chandrasiri, who is also the Deputy General Manager of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group took this opportunity to share this astonishing achievement with the Royal Cliff employees, without who’s commitment and dedication this accomplishment would not have been possible.

With eleven of the most best known restaurants, it is rightfully appropriate that five of these restaurants are hailed as the world’s best by many wine enthusiast, winemakers and wine journalists from around the globe. The five proud achievers are : Royal Grill Room & Wine Cellar – Excellence & Heritage, Rossini – The Godfather’s Favourite, Chrysanthemum – Dynasty Chinese Cuisine, Caprice – A Taste of Riviera and Larn Thong – Authentic Thai Traditions; each of these restaurants are unique in the repertoire of cuisines served, the excellent wine list and indisputably for the complementary hospitality and service. 

Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and are pleasing to a range of wine enthusiasts. The awards also recognize the inclusion of vintage and appellations for all selections of wines, including those which are available by the glass; and these lists ideally offer 400 or more selections, along with superior presentation, and display either vintage depth, with several vertical offerings of top wines, or excellent breadth across several wine regions. The New York’s Wine Spectator’s judging panel of wine experts and editors have the hand in picking the best restaurants deserving of these prestigious acknowledgements.
