The Royal Cliff Wine Club Welcomes Pascal Jolivet

On Thursday, 4th March 2010, the Royal Cliff Wine Club hosted a very special gala dinner which took place at the Grill Room & Wine Cellar in the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel which features a recently expanded underground wine cellar with dining-in facilities, the first of its kind in Asia. The acclaimed wine club were honoured to receive a highly respected member of the wine community in Mr. Pascal Jolivet himself! Known as the ‘Prince of Loire Valley’, the world renowned owner/winemaker of Domaine Pascal Jolivet flew in specifically for this event.

Founded in 1987, this winemaker specializes in Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé styles of wine which have caused much sensation and a received much praise from leading experts such as Wine Spectator and Robert Parker of Wine Advocate which has enabled the wine label to enjoy a position with the Michelin starred restaurants in France.

The event which was co-sponsored by Ambrose wine Ltd was sold out within a few hours of being announced and proved to be a roaring success with typically enthusiastic members taking great pleasure in savouring all the varietals of incredible wines and the exquisite multi course gourmet menu.

The President of the Wine Club, Mr. Ranjith Chandrasiri himself took a moment to address the guests and further highlight the absolute uniqueness and pleasure of being able to host such an exciting event with a distinguished speaker such as Mr. Pascal Jolivet himself in attendance.

Asia’s leading wine club is based in the world famous Royal Cliff Beach Resort in Jomtien-Pattaya and will continue to host such extraordinary wine dinners. The next event offers a very rare opportunity for members to sample precious wines from Burgundy’s renowned La Maison Joseph Drouhin on Thursday 18th March at Caprice Restaurant.
