Royal Cliff’s deVine Club  Celebrates the Best of Italian Wine and Cuisine!

What promised to be an unforgettable evening of Italian wine and delectable cuisine turned out to be a huge success as the Royal Cliff Hotels Group deVine club held a superb “In Vino Veritas” Italian Wine Dinner on Saturday, March 1, 2014.

The event began with an elegant welcome cocktail reception at the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel’s Lobby Bar where guests were greeted by members of the Royal Cliff Executive team and mingled over the succulent flavors of delicious canapés.  A special five-course menu adeptly designed to complement the featured exquisite wines of the evening, generously sponsored by Wine Dee Dee Co., Ltd and Sri Siam Wine Co., Ltd., awaited at the Royal Grill Room and Wine Cellar.

Royal Cliff Hotels Group General Manager and Acting President of the DeVine Wine Club, Mr.  Antonello Passa once again began the evening’s festivities with a warm welcome speech and an introduction of the evening’s guest speaker and wine specialist, Mr. John Pesci, who readily shared his expertise and knowledge on wines.

As Mr. Pesci guided everyone through the fascinating world of Italian Wines, guests were presented with a 5- course meal comprising of culinary temptations that highlighted the passion and fire of Italian cuisine.  The meal begun with a serving of Pan- Seared Yellowfish Tuna Loin on a bed of Mesclun Leaves & Vitello Tonnato and Capers complemented by  Sensi Orvieto D.O.C. Umbria 2011.  Following this were creative palate-pleasing combinations that enticed with their scrumptious flavor and texture, from a Spring Lasagna with Green Asparagus and Ricotta Cheese & Risotto with Gorgonzola served with Sensi Collezione Pinot Grigio I.G.T. Veneto 2012 as well as a selection of divine Italian Cheese, Pear and delicious Grape Chutney delicately paired with Amarone della Valpolicella Classico D.O.C.  Villa Cornaro,Veneto 2007.

The unforgettable main course consisted of Australian Black Angus Beef Tenderloin on Roasted Vegetables accompanied by White Truffle Oil enhanced with Red Wine Jus balanced with the velvety flavor of Sensi Sabbiato Bolgheri D.O.C.  Tuscany 2009.  Guests ended the delightful evening with decadent Strawberry Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, Delizie al Limone matched with the savory taste of Bizzarro Manzoni Moscato Spumane Rose Veneto.

With the ultimate combination of superb cuisine, fine wine and a wonderful setting, guests left the event with another remarkable night to remember!
