A Remarkable French Wine Dinner from the best European winery at Royal Cliff
Pattaya, Thailand –The Royal Grill Room & Wine Cellar of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group was filled with over a hundred deVine Wine Club members and guests who attended the exquisite French Wine Dinner from “European Winery of the Year” on the evening of February 27, 2015. The event was an exceptional occasion for wine aficionados to indulge in fine French cuisine which was paired with excellent Gérard Bertrand wines.
Members and guests were greeted with an elegant cocktail reception at The Bar of the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel where they all had the great opportunity to mingle with fellow wine lovers and relax over deluxe canapés while savoring the Gérard Bertrand 6ème Sens Blanc 2012.

Royal Cliff’s award-winning culinary team, led by Chef Walter Thenisch, had especially prepared a sumptuous 5-course dinner which best compliments each exquisite Gérard Bertrand wine. Dinner featured fresh Norwegian salmon mi-cuit with pickled beetroots and white balsamic vinaigrette paired with 6ème Sens Blanc 2012, lobster poached in fennel potato & fennel mousse, persimmon & beurre blanc paired with Gris Blanc Rose 2013 followed by juicy herb-cepes mushroom crusted black angus beef tenderloin, red wine braised onions, homemade potato crisps & bordelaise sauce paired with Réserve Spéciale Syrah Rouge, 2011 and ended with handcrafted chèvre cheeses, wild greens & pistachio paired with 6ème Sens Rouge, 2011. Ending the meal on a sweet note were crunchy macaroons filled with raspberry mousse, hot chocolate soufflé & homemade bourbon vanilla ice cream paired with Crément de Limoux Blanc, 2010.
Aside from the delectable meal, guests also had the great opportunity in exploring the personal, rich and profound expression of Gérard Bertrand wines from the terroirs of Langeudoc Roussillon through interesting insights from Mr. Ron Batori, the President of Bangkok Beer and Beverage who was the guest speaker of the evening. The deVine Wine Club was launched on April 28, 2001 as the visible face of the resort's enthusiasm for promoting wines and hosting wine-related events. Today, membership has grown substantially and it is now Asia’s leading wine club which hosts popular gala dinners.
