The 11th Fitz Club Tennis Tournament which was recently held at Fitz Club – Racquets, Health and Fitness was an unqualified success. Sponsored by The Aspen Tree by Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited, Singha Corporation, Seara Fitness Systems, Wattana Systemation Co., Ltd, Supply Gallery Co., Ltd, Inalca Food & Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd, T&T Aluminum, Vivaldi Beauty Supply Limited Partnership, Thai-Phill Services Co., Ltd, SMCC (Thailand) Co., Ltd and CP-Meiji Co., Ltd, the tournament brought together local and international Tennis players and supportive fans who came out for 3 days of non-stop action.
The tournament kicked off with a warm welcome from Mr. Vitanart Vathanakul, the CEO of Royal Cliff Hotels Group, who is also an accomplished Tennis player and a long-time enthusiast of the sport. Fast-paced and entertaining, the matches were competitive and produced top-level tennis. The tournament adopted the round-robin scoring system which enabled competitors to play several heart-pumping matches against different opponents making it an action-packed weekend for all.
New remarkable entries spiced up this year’s tournament which gave the players the perfect opportunity to warm up for the upcoming prestigious World Seniors Tennis Championship ITF Grade A presented by The Aspen Tree by Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited and Singha in November. Participants of the Fitz Club Tennis Tournament this year included the Royal Bangkok Sports Club (RBSC) Tennis Champion as well as ex ITF champions. The level of play was exceptional all-throughout the event and the perfect weather provided the perfect backdrop for the electrifying conclusion match on the third day.
Daniel Rajsky, the frequent winner of previous tournaments, was once again crowned the Fitz Club Tennis Champion. First-time participant, Dr. Anand Vichyanond, was the 1st runner up. Each was presented with a trophy, cash prize and vouchers for Royal Cliff’s popular Saturday Evening Grand Barbecue Buffet Dinner.
Players who also won the group stage and reached the tough semi-finals were Mr. Ryckembusch Martial and Mr. Vitanart Vathanakul who showed a lot of heart in all their matches. Mr. Peter Lucas was announced the winner of the second division. Amazing athletes, lively spectators, good sportsmanship and beautiful weather made the 11th Fitz Club Tennis Tournament a smashing success!
