The award-winning Royal Cliff Hotels Group was recently honored to welcome delegates from local and international associations who attended the 7th UIA Associations Round Table Asia-Pacific 2019 (UIA 2019) organized by the Union of International Associations (UIA) and hosted by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). The Royal Cliff management team hosted the Welcome reception cocktail for the delegates at the beautiful sunset terrace bar.
Held in Pattaya City for the first time, the interactive two-day event under the theme ‘Pattaya in a New Light’, brought together 100 participants from more than 50 international non-profit associations from around the world. Delegates were warmly welcomed by the senior management led by Mrs. Panga Vathanakul, Managing Director of Royal Cliff Hotels Group and Mr. Vitanart Vathanakul, CEO of Royal Cliff Hotels Group during the sunset reception held at the Sunset Terrace Bar of the Royal Cliff Beach Terrace. The event’s highlights were the thought-provoking panel discussions and insightful presentations from prominent speakers such as Mr. Cyril Ritchie, the President of UIA, who delivered the opening keynote, Mr. Jack Sim, the founder of World Toilet Organization (WTO) and many more.
Delegates enjoyed three optional morning group activities which were aimed to introduce them to Thai culture. They enjoyed a Thai cooking class at the Na Pah – Thai Cooking School, hot herbal compress lessons conducted by the Royal Cliff’s Cliff Spa team and a fun boxing class. The breaks, delicious dinners and lunches gave the participants plenty of time to network with delegates from other associations in different countries.
The Union of International Associations (UIA) is an independent non-profit research institute founded in 1907 which documents and promotes the work of international associations. The UIA Round Tables provide an opportunity to learn through networking and through practice, to meet other international associations and share experience and knowledge to help the associations’ leaders run their organization better. The next UIA Associations Round Table Asia-Pacific will take place in Seoul, South Korea on September 17 and 18, 2020.
