Considered the world’s fastest-growing hybrid fitness race, HYROX has taken the world by storm. Originally called CUROX, it’s a new type of competitive fitness that has reignited the passion of workout enthusiasts and gym goers alike. But what is HYROX? Our article tells you all about the new fitness phenomenon, our recommended HYROX gym in Bangkok, and how you can partake in HYROX training at our award-winning Pattaya sports club, FITZ Club.

What is HYROX?
HYROX is defined as “fitness racing”. Consisting of both running and functional workouts in rounds, HYROX competitors run one kilometer and follow it immediately with one functional workout station. This circuit is repeated eight times. HYROX competitions are normally hosted indoors in large exhibition halls, where loving supporters and enthusiastic spectators can observe your performance from start to finish. It was founded in Germany in 2017 and has since grown to hold competitions in over 30 countries globally. It’s said that up to 1.5 million athletes are now competing in HYROX across more than 85 cities all over the world.

Train at A HYROX Gym in Bangkok – Marrok Gym
Located in the Rama 3 area, Marrok Gym is a premium fitness, functional-training, and combat-sports gym in Bangkok. Under one roof, they offer a fully-equipped functional training and strength area alongside Muay Thai, MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, yoga, and Pilates. Priding itself on having everything in one impeccable facility, members can build strength, improve conditioning, and enhance movement quality and recovery in a single gym.
While they do not have a full HYROX competition set-up just yet, they carry most of the functional and strength equipment used to train the HYROX movements. At this HYROX gym in Bangkok, you can find wall ball targets (not mounted at competition height), kettlebells and equipment for carry and lunge work, and a functional training area for sandbag work and burpees. They also have a running area that sits separately from the functional zone.
Marrok Gym is a strength and functional gym rather than a race-replica facility, so members often use it to build strength and conditioning behind the HYROX stations. In the near future, the gym plans to expand their functional HYROX and cardio training area to accommodate the growing number of HYROX enthusiasts in Bangkok, adding quintessential HYROX equipment such as a dedicated sled-push track.
Promotions at Marrok Gym
For those interested in testing the waters with HYROX training at Marrok Gym in Bangkok, they provide a free trial session for new members. They also have an early check-in membership priced at 999 THB/month, along with discounted 3-month packages (Move Pack and Fight Pack) for those who desire a more long-term commitment.
