What is CoolTop Technology?
Designed for performance in high-temperature climates, CoolTop Technology is a topcoat product that uses infrared reflective pigments to reduce the temperature of acrylic athletic court surfaces. It was introduced in late 2022 by California Sports Surfaces. Compared to your everyday competitor court surfaces, CoolTop Technology reflects solar heat 20-30% higher than standard court coatings. It aids in overall player comfort as the product reduces heat absorption underfoot. In addition to helping athletes stay cooler for longer, this solar reflective coating also reduces the Heat Island effect, helping environmental sustainability efforts in a day and age where concrete and buildings are around every corner.
The beauty of this innovative topcoat technology is that it can be applied to more than just a multi-purpose sports court. It is compatible with current CSS mat and liquid rubber cushion systems, including Rebound Ace® HSA, Rebound Ace® GS8, Pro, Plexicushion®, Plexicushion® Prestige and DecoTurf®. The possibility of where it can be applied is endless. Available in a range of colors, it can even be used for netball, school courts, and other multi-use areas. It currently comes in shades of Nordic Blue, Ice Blue, Forest Green, Mint Green, Silver and Steel Grey.
