Royal Cliff has led Pattaya’s sustainability movement for more than five decades. From the moment we officially opened our doors, environmental stewardship has been a fundamental pillar of our business. Today, we continue to set the benchmark for responsible & sustainable tourism by investing in long-term programmes that conserve resources, cut waste, and uplift our community.

Water & Energy Conservation
  • Advanced on-site wastewater-treatment facility (first in the region) that safely recycles water for trees plantation, irrigation and flushing.
  • ISO-certified energy‐management system and ongoing retrofit of high-efficiency lighting and HVAC.
  • Reduces freshwater consumption, supports sustainable landscaping, minimizes water pollution, lowers utility costs, cuts greenhouse gas emissions and meets international standards.
    Waste-to-Resource
  • In-house composters convert unavoidable food waste into nutrient-rich organic fertilizer, while captured biogas is harnessed to fuel select kitchen operations.
  • Minimise landfill waste, promotes soil health, lowers waste disposal costs, transforms waste into energy, cuts energy costs and showcases eco-innovation.
    Guest Participation Green Programme
  • Encourage guests to return room-card holders.
  • In-room reminders to set A/C to 25 °C and reuse linens and towels.
  • Repurposing laundry bags, retired linens, and paper products into useful items.
  • We donate a portion from the proceeds from each group business to plant trees around our community.
  • Lowers single-use plastic or paper waste, Promotes environmental awareness, conserving resources, encourages mindful habits, highlights innovative reuse practices and minimizes logistical waste.
    Eco-Mobility
  • Multiple EV charging stations available on site.
  • EV courtesy car to provide convenience for guests to travel around the resort.
  • Support for low-emission transfers and tours.
  • Encourages greener travel choices consequently reducing air pollution.

    All operations are audited and certified under ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety), so all guests are assured that sustainability never compromises safety or comfort.

    • Royal Cliff Big Cleaning Day — Royal Cliff Team members took part in cleaning public areas across Pattaya.
    • Sea-Turtle Conservation — Ongoing support for the Royal Thai Navy conservation centre.
    • Beach-Cleaning Initiatives — A joint operation with Pattaya City to keep the coastline pristine.

    GIVING BACK TO SOCIETY

    Children’s welfare and community health is also one of our main priorities. Each year we are committed to the following activities:

    • Provide scholarships and material donations to under-resourced schools.
    • Support the Pattaya Orphanage and Pattaya School for the Blind (including funding a full lobby & library renovation).
    • Co-fund local hospitals and housing projects for HIV patients in Rayong.

    Senior management personally visits local charities and non-profit organisations to understand their needs and deliver assistance.

    Tourism is the key driver of Thailand’s economy, offering exciting career paths for the next generation. As a pioneer in the industry, Royal Cliff is dedicated to education and training. We regularly welcome university and college visits to give students a real-world view of how a world-class hotel operates.

    In the past year alone, we have provided over 600 internships and vocational training opportunities. We also host educational fairs to guide students and graduates in choosing the right career path.

    Our passion for CSR continues to inspire guests and the local community to take part in meaningful, eco-friendly activities that give back to society. We have also launched a Charity Fund to support many social projects. This fund will be carefully monitored using clear benchmarks to ensure transparency and impact.

Together, small actions create remarkable change.

    Royal Cliff Sets New Benchmark for CSR by Winning Prestigious Asia Responsible Enterprise Award (AREA)

    Mr. Vitanart Vathanakul, CEO of Royal Cliff Hotels Group (fourth from right), celebrates receiving the Asia Responsible Enterprise Award in the Green Leadership category, together with the executives and staff of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group.  The Royal Cliff has set another benchmark for social responsibility excellence by adding the Asia Responsible Enterprise Award (AREA) to its distinctive portfolio of awards and accolades. Its Green Multiples project was lauded and recognized for its creativity, sustainability and effectiveness in lessening environmental pollution. Recognized as the most coveted CSR award in Asia and widely regarded as the gold standard for sustainability practice, leading organizations from all over the region received the AREA, demonstrating continued dedication to responsible business practices despite the pandemic.

    Royal Cliff Donates More than 5000 Protective Masks and 2000 Face Shields to Help Fight Covid-19

    Royal Cliff Hotels Group headed by Managing Director, Mrs. Panga Vathanakul, recently donated more than 5000 protective masks and 2000 face shields to Chonburi hospitals namely, Nikom Kamsoi Hospital, Bangplee Hospital, Somdej na Sriracha hospital, Banglamung Hospital, Sirikit Hospital and Wat Yan Hospital and local medical frontliners to support their fight against the COVID- 19 pandemic. In addition, it has also implemented safety measures to combat the outbreak and protect its employees and staff.
